CsI(Tl)

  • Low afterglow
  • High light output
  • Good radiation hardness properties

LYSO

  • Three to four times the light emission of BGO
  • High density and short decay time
  • Fast, single exponential decay time most PMTs

CdWO4

  • Withstands high energy radiation damage
  • High density and stopping power
  • Suitable for low activity counting applications

BGO

  • High density, high Z scintillator
  • Good photopeak to Compton ratio
  • Scintillator of choice for neutron activation analysis and active Compton shields

NaI(Tl)

  • High light output
  • No significant self-absorption of scintillation light
  • Emission spectrum well matched with the sensitivity curve of photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) with bialkali photocathodes

LaBr3 and Enhanced Lanthanum Bromide

  • Fast emission enabling high count rate capability for extended measurement capability (time of flight, fast analysis)
  • Excellent light output stability with temperature to allow the best identification performance, even if high temperature
